The 14-year-old animated classic film initially released in 2009 was shown during a Fathom Events two-day screening and, due to its massive fan base, became one of Fathom Events' most significant showings and Second Highest Gross income in 2023.

In the two-day screening, the film brought in $4.91 Million to the box office, putting the showings right behind both “Barbie” and “Oppenheimer,” for the week.

“Coraline” had $3,000 more income than current popular films in theatres.

Fathom Events is bringing the film back for a second two-day showing on Monday, August 28, and Tuesday, August 29, due to the high demand and the success of the initial first screenings.

The film will be exactly like the first set of showings. “Coraline” will be shown in 4K, and it will also show behind-the-scenes footage from the LAIKA archives to show how the classic film was made.

The story initially comes from Author Neil Gaiman.

“Coraline” is a story about a girl who has just moved into a new home with her parents. She lives in a small apartment in a rather large house but has neighbors upstairs and downstairs. While exploring her surroundings, she meets her neighbors, such as Mr. Bobinsky, his mice, and Miss. Forcible and Miss. Spink and their dogs.

While Coraline is exploring the inner part of her new home, she discovers a hidden door leading her to an alternate universe where she believes everything is terrific.

Though this is not always the case, and “Coraline” must find a way to save her family from the forces of evil in the alternative world.

The film has several known actors, such as Dakota Fanning, Terri Hatcher, Jennifer Saunders, Dawn French, John Hodgman, Robert Bailey Jr., and Keith David.

“Coraline” remains a classic and one worth seeing on the big screen.

“Coraline” is one you won’t want to miss.
